Ahhhh... back from The Farm. We just wrapped up 4 days recording and managed to get down 12 tracks! It was about the most fun thing I've ever done in my life. Garth Richardson was just awesome with us, very patient and with great humour, and the environment is truly inspiring. So next, we go through the rough bedtracks we have and assemble some notes about direction, and he will tidy up and mix down what we have. He assures us we won't recognize ourselves, although honestly, it sounds so good now that I barely recognize us already. So much to look forward to.

One thing I find the most inspiring about anyone I work with, is their ability to avoid cynicism in the face of a brutal industry. You see it a lot in the ad world, and frankly, it's squeaky clean compared to the piranha-infested industry that is the music racket. God, the stories I heard. But Garth seems surprising sanguine about it; he's not naive, insofar as he knows that at every turn someone is going to try and rip him off, but he seems to have taken the view that that's just the way the business is run, and vigilance is the price of admission. Amazing.

More later, including some photos!
