That is, as they say, a compelling offer. I have no idea how they got it past corporate compliance and even grammar check, but I was almost tempted to click before deleting.

Campbell got asked to play for a Senior House League team this week (long weekend, all the teams are short of players) and it was an interesting experience for him. He's a natural athlete in the physical sense, if not in the mental drive, so when he was initially asked he said no. As another player on his team had been asked and encouraged him, he agreed to give it a shot. And he did not do too badly, especially as the team they played had a boy on it who (seriously) looked like he was 17 years old he was so big. Poor Campbell, he just looked so scared to even go to the puck a lot of the time - such a contrast to his current team where he's all over the ice and very confident.
At the end of the game I went around to the dressing room and he looked close to tears -- although the congratulations for his efforts from the team brought him out of it. Later he told me he was just plain scared out there a lot of the time. The kids were so much bigger and faster than he was used to. I was thinking that this is the thing about the kids who become pros: aside from their great physical gifts, they just have no fear of anything. For better or worse, Campbell has an overly reflective side that he inherited from his dad which makes him worry about these things. The big difference, I hope, is that his Dad will not worry so much about it along with him. Heh.
