Welcome to Isabel Maria Quigley-Alvarez, Conor's new cousin! Everyone is doing great, and should be back at home tomorrow! Yahooo!
So, at the end of 5 weeks, here is how it all played out, starting with Conors 1st birthday.
Flu, fever and diarrhea for the first week
Ear infections, one for each ear. Antibiotics cause more diarrhea for week two.
Low grade flu and diarrhea for third week.
New tooth coming in, but no more diarrhea by the beginning of the 4th week!
I think the best way to put those 4 weeks is something Ciara said. "I haven't had more then 2 1/2 hours consecutive sleep in the past four weeks".
Thank the gods he is sleeping better now.
That's about all i have to say about that.
Having some email issues here at the Org today. If you sent something late lastnight or earily today, we may not have recieved it... Hopefully its all fixed up now.
Con had his first solid poo in 3 weeks this morning! Now if he would only start to get back to a better sleep schedule....
3 weeks. That is how long Conor has been sick now. First with the flu,
fever thing. Then last week with double ear infections. Now with a
different flu. Things are looking better however, as he is
really getting back to pre-illness levels of perkiness. Which is great
to see and experience! Its so much more fun when he is happy!
I wanted to mention some of the new things Conor is doing. He
understands open and shut, in and out. He is really pointing to
everything, and there are more and more words that he
understands. He is starting to ride his trike, although only backwards.
All kinds of new changes going on, its quite amazing.
Just a quick link to an amazingly helpful video. (link Jens-Christian)
Knew i was forgetting something! When we were away in january we saw this great exhibit at the Tate Modern called The Weather Project. Really amazing. Michael pointed me to this url which as a QTVR of the exhibit - it really gives you a great idea of what it was like. Thanks for the headsup!
Ciara took Conor in to the doctors on monday, as he was still not a happy camper. Turns out that he has an infection in not one but both ears! No wonder he was screaming all the time! In a cruel twist of fate, the antibiotics that he is taking for his ears give him, guess what? Diarrhea. Didn't he just get over that? Anyway, he is perking up, and i don't feel so bad about giving him the anti-pain drugs, now that i know what they are working on.
Man, last week was pretty tough on all of us. Conor got sick a week ago Sunday with a fever and lots of the bad kind of poo. Like, the kind that leaks out of the diaper. I managed to come down with some kind of variant of what he had on Thursday, so Ciara had to stay home to take care of Con. Fortunatly, mine only lasted the day. Conors started to perk-up by the weekend, but he is still out of sorts and not sleeping very well, so mom and dad are pretty burnt out. You know its bad when you have folks come over to babysit, and you are so tired that you just stay home anyway!
