What the heck is going on?

Well, we had our first PhotoClub meeting last night. Denise, Rui, Tracy and I set the theme for month, images having to do with "heat". Our next meeting is the Monday July 19th, 9pm at Futures Bakery on Bloor. Take some photos and come out! One other thing, no photo maniulation - no cropping, etc. Just plain-jane photos. If you are interested email me.

Conor has been dealing with a large number of new teeth appearing in his gums. Not so much fun for sleep time, which is why Ciara and I have been Zombie-like for the past couple of weeks. What else is new ;) Con has also recently learned how to climb. This, while a great milestone for him, is a new terror for us - turn around for a second and you suddenly find him dancing on top of the kitchen table. No joke.

Greg has a couple of new posts up on his blog - good to see some action over there!

Thats it for now, more later.... sometime...

So, i've managed to hack together trackback support for MoinMoin. And i am very pleased with myself, thank you.

Sorry, its political

You should check out this cool info tool the CBC put together to view the different party leaders take on some of the different issues surrounding this election. Handy!

Oh, and just so you don't think i've gotten soft about politics, the Conservative party is evil, and you will grow great big horns out the top of your head if you vote for them. So there.

Here are some interesting blog posts about the election, with interesting comparisons to american politics. Kuro5hin (the comments are all over the place, interesting reading, if at times painful), Tim Bray.

So, Con finally had his 1 year checkup on Monday. 13 Kilos and 83 cm. For those of you still in Imperial land, that's 29 lbs and just under 3 feet. Big kid.

Alternative to Slimp3?

Well, Apple have pulled another rabbit out of their hat. The Airport Express, in addition to being a pretty darn small WiFi Access Point, also has an audio port, to support what apple are calling AirTunes. Plug one of these into a wall near your stereo, plug the audio port into the stereo, fire up iTunes, and, boom, away you go. The price in the states is about 130, so it will probably be about 225 here. That's much better then the slimp3 device. Admittedly, the slimp3 does have more functionality, but still, this is pretty darn cool. Also, if you have a USB printer, it can be shared via this device as well. Wow.

Update: Gaa, i just checked the slimp3 site, and their device is 200 USD - still more then then apple's device, but it does more audio related things too.

So hard

I keep having a lot i'd like to put down in the blog, but just never seem to have the time and/or gumption to get to it. I guess it must be one of those off times, where i just don't have the drive to keep up with it. I've gone through it before, and i'm sure it will pass in time (or till Con starts sleeping better!).

What has been going on? Doing more work on some MoinMoin stuff, volunteering for CBN, going to the park with Con (see previous entry).

Lots of other stuff, but i've run out of time - Con is up! Bye!

At long last
