December 2006 Archives
Conor is feeling better today, but he has quite a bit of gunk in his ears, so its like he is partially deaf. Makes for a rough morning when both parents are sick and didn’t get enough sleep - would be a comedy of errors if we were better able to appreciate it!
Forgot to mention that i was out on the motorcycle on sunday. How crazy is that? Its been years since i’ve ridden so late in the season. The poor bike is looking quite sad - i’ve been very negligent about its up-keep. It needs an oil change pretty desperately, and there is surface rust in all kinds of places. Easy things to fix, but i’ve just not put in the time.
Lastly, two quick links. I still remember watching “Vision On” on TVO when i was a kid. I went looking online for some info about it, and found the “It’s prof again” site. I had no idea that it was produced for 10 years! I have to see if TVO still has any of the tapes. [UPDATE] Ha! Found this video on YouTube.
Secondly, i found www.darkwinter.com, which explains itself thusly:
Dark Winter is a net.label dedicated to releasing dark ambient, atmospheric, and unconventional music from around the world. All Dark Winter releases are available for free download in 192kpbs MP3 format.
I’ve only listened to a couple of tracks there so far, but it seems pretty good.
That is all.
Well, that’s all of us now. Conor has had some kind of killer cough for about a week now, and yesterday both Ciara and i started to feel sick. Dang. But on the plus side, Ciara is already on vacation and i will join her after tomorrow!
We will be shipping out to Brockville via Via (haha), which should be fun - Conor is excited anyway. I’m excited that i don’t have to drive on the thricely damned 401. Or worry about the weather while doing the aforementioned driving. As long as we don’t get any weird-o’s sitting next to us, i’ll be a happy camper. And having a kid also means that we get to board the train first, so we don’t have to get there too early or stand in line! I knew there were advantages to having a kid!
Strange week. First, sometime tuesday night, our water heater stopped heating. Something to do with the thermocouple being old. An easy fix, 2 minutes, once the guy got there.
Sometime friday night our furnace stopped heating. Again, a simple fix, the ignition coil was broken, 2 minutes to fix, once the repair person got there.
Glad that they both broke when it wasn’t too cold, and that the fixes didn’t take to long, or cost anything to fix. But weird that they both happened a few days apart.
