Address book

I was about to have a bit of a freakout over the fact that there is no easy way to do nice distributed identity sharing. Sure, i could go with Kolab on the server for Ciara and I to share an address book, but really, i want something more. Something more distributed, less centeralized. And i couldn’t find anything, at first. Then i found out that OpenID 2.0 is going to support this kind of thing. Excellent! However, there doesn’t seem to be a server package for Ubuntu (my server os of choice). Bummer. But!! There is a python library which is integrated into Django. Cool! Still, not as easy as simply apt-get-ing a .deb file… Sigh. I guess i could go with ClaimID, an OpenID provider, but i really want to run the server myself. Just paranoid that way (which is why i didn’t sign up with Plaxo or any other address sharing social site). Ahh I just found phpMyID, which is a super nice light OpenID Identity provider. Cool!
