I was more thinking of folks still using just the plain-text twtxt, it would just be a most-recent-activity appended to the "bottom" of the text file, allowing for the use of some HTTP headers so you don't have to DL the whole file... More state to keep track of on the client however.

But, as you mentioned, the spec does not require an order to the tweets/posts/lines in the text file. And i can *totally* see how having it be in order, newest at the bottom, could help with bandwith/traffic in a big way.
